The ultra-turrax® UTS is a high-performance dispersing machine for the production of emulsions and suspensions in batch operations. Using the rotor-stator principle, the UTS is best suited for applications that cannot be accomplished using conventional stirring methods. The UTS machine is capable of processing highly abrasive products and media with a viscosity of up to 5,000 mPa·s.

The UTS stator is connected to the motor with a mounting flange and extension rods. Because the rotating shaft seal is located directly on the motor flange, seal contact with the actual product is prevented. The UTS machine design meets specifications for dispersion production in the pharmaceutical industry or for processing of abrasive products in other industries.

The UTS models come in two different varieties:

The KT version is designed for use in open or pressure-less closed vessels. The flange contains a sealing bushing with a built-in radial shaft seal ring. The KT version can be operated at temperatures of up to 140°C.

The KD version is intended for use in closed pressure vessels. The KD model contains a double-acting mechanical seal housed at the sealing flange, and a barrier system for lubrication and cooling of the seal rings. Composite materials can be customized to meet individual requirements. The standard KD machine is capable of operating with pressures of up to 16 bar (UTS 80-KD up to 10 bar) and temperatures ranging from - 40°C up to 160°C.

The preferred installation positions for the UTS are: diagonal from above or vertical off-center.

The large selection of tools provides for adaptation to a variety of mediums and mixing tasks.

The UTS machine for open vessels is available with floor, wall or mobile stands.

The utc series is available with two different types of flanges kt for installation on open vessels and kd for closed vessels. The utc for open vessels can be offered with suitable floor, wall or mobile stands.

The rotating shaft is sealed with either a lip (kt) or mechanical (kd) seal. For operations under pressures of up to 10 bar or for the processing of abrasive media, the ultra-turrax® is equipped with a mechanical seal.

The ultra-turrax® ute is a high-performance dispersing machine designed for bottom entry into vessels. It mixes, emulsifies, and disperses free-flowing or liquid media with a viscosity of up to 5. 000 mpas in batch operation. Using the rotor-stator principle, the ute is best suited for applications that cannot be accomplished using conventional stirring methods.

strong vortices as well as aeration are avoided with the ute machine, even when very low fill levels occur in the tank or vessels are emptied during stirring or dispersing.

the ute machine has a simple, robust design. The three phase motor, the shaft for the rotor drive, and the flange for mounting of the stator are combined by means of a lantern into one compact unit. The standard version of the ultra-turrax® ute is suitable for process temperatures of up to 120°c. The shaft seal occurs via a low-maintenance mechanical seal.

the ute series is available with three seal options:

• the "b" version with a single-acting mechanical seal is permissible for operating pressures of up to 10 bar and is recommended when contamination of the product to be processed due to a mini leakage of the sealing medium is to be avoided.
• the "bw" version with a single-acting mechanical seal on the product side and a shaft sealing ring atmosphere-sided combines the advantages of the "b" version with the option of flushing or sterilization of the mechanical seal from the backside.
• the "p" version is equipped with a double-acting mechanical seal offering a reliable dry run safety. The ute-p machines can be used when processing abrasive media and/or in vessels with operating pressures of up to 16 bars.
